There is something pretty special about giving our students a glimpse of what’s ahead. They got to experience the energy, excitement, school spirit, and FUN that comes with being part of the high school community. Even better, they got to experience it alongside the older students they look up to!
Opportunities like this help our kids see that they are part of something bigger and give them something to look forward to as they continue their journey through school.

"Hi West Side families, This Friday Sept. 11, students are welcome to bring a remote control car for a fun RC Car Recess! This is completely optional. If your child chooses to bring one, please remind them that they are responsible for keeping track of and taking care of their car and remote. For safety, please no flying remote-control toys (drones, helicopters, etc.). We’re excited to have some fun!"

Who will be our next Bingo winner?! 👀
From West Side to NASA! West Side Elementary was honored to welcome back former Thunderbird Aaron Vigil through a special assembly with our students. Aaron is now a mechanical engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and is part of the team working on NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which is scheduled to launch this Sunday. During his virtual visit with our 5th graders, Aaron shared his journey from growing up in Wyoming and attending West Side to studying engineering at the University of Wyoming and ultimately working on one of NASA’s exciting space missions. His story was an inspiring reminder to our students that big dreams can begin right here at West Side Elementary. We are incredibly proud to call Aaron a Thunderbird and grateful that he took the time to connect with our students and encourage them to dream big and pursue their passions!
