Congratulations to our 2024 Worland High School graduates! Thanks for inspiring our future graduates to follow in your footsteps. We wish you all great success in your future endeavors!
We had a great day at the Hamilton Ranch, checking out the sheep and learning about FFA and vermiculture! Medicine Lodge was a chance to see Paleo-Indian art and take a hike!

4th grade students Kinder"gardened" today. What a blast to see our buddies again!

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Our annual talent show, West Side’s Got Talent, is scheduled to take place on May 22, 2024, and if you are receiving this letter, your student has indicated that he or she wants to share that talent with the whole West Side family. This letter will serve a couple of purposes for us. First, it is an invitation to our West Side’s Got Talent show which starts at 9:00 AM on May 22. Secondly, it is an avenue for us to inform you of our criteria and practice schedule.
Every eligible act MUST attend at least TWO practices next week (5/13 - 5/16)
Every eligible act MUST attend the full dress rehearsal on Monday, May 20th, which runs from 3:15 - 5:00 PM.
Our practice schedule for next week is as follows:
Monday - Thursday: 3:15 - 5:00 PM
We do have a couple of slots during lunch, but those are reserved only for students who have other activities or commitments planned for the afternoons during regular practice time.
This letter will be sent home with students on Monday, but we wanted to give you all a little advanced notice.

Another mile run is in the books for West Side. Thanks to Mr. Lempka for getting everything set up. Thanks to the teachers for helping to keep us on schedule. Thanks, also, to all the parents and family members who came out to cheer us on!

Today, we had Mr. Wright, Mr. Mikkola, and Mr. Dennis play different instruments and sing some beautiful choir songs for us. Next year, these 5th-grade students will have opportunities to join middle-school band and choir, so this was an exciting showcase for our kids.

Yesterday was the 5th-grade WY-TOPP breakfast. Our cooks made us a fabulous breakfast, we spun some great tunes, and then, it was time for a spontaneous dance party! That's how we roll before we WY-TOPP test!

Oops! I forgot to add this to Friday's post: Mr. Peterson's class was the final group to go through Mrs. Keller's cow-eye-dissection/medical-prep program. This was one of my favorite hands-on learning opportunities of the school year ... but the stench was nearly unbearable. Thank you, Arm & Hammer Deodorizing Air Freshener!

Thursday was the day for Mrs. Mountford's students to take their turns. Whether it was cutting through the fatty tissue of a cow's eyeball, reaching into a box of mystery organs, or surviving the stench permeating the room, it was an awesome experience for our kids!

On Wednesday, it was Ms. Hunter's turn as her class came in for some medical direction and eyeball dissection! Thanks again, Mrs. Keller!

Today, Mrs. Keller is working with Mr. Mueller's class in the "OR." The kids certainly have their "eyes on the prize."

This week, all 5 of our 5th grade classes get to participate in a medical science project. They get to identify different organs, infer types of injuries from different photos, and dissect a cow's eye! Is it gross? Yup! But is it cool? Absolutely! A special thanks to Mrs. Keller, for all your hard work putting this together!

State assessments can be a bit nerve-racking for kids. At West Side, we celebrate the opportunity to show what we know! That's why we start our day off with a healthy breakfast, a pep talk, and dance music, of course. 😀

West Side families, we have about 40 jackets and coats that have been left here throughout the school year. Please take a look at these pics, and if you see something that looks familiar, have your student bring it home. 😀

What an epic battle! In this closely fought contest, the Pickley Popsicles bested The Heifers. We are so proud of all of our kids who put in the time and energy to read all the books and write all of the summaries. Great job, kids!

And then there were two! The final battle between The Heifers and The Pickley Popsicles happens at 2:30. May the odds be ever in your favor!

Battle of the Books is a BIG DEAL!

The Pickley Popsicles vs. Team Ummie Zummie!
